BA Sale...Goodbye Florida Hello Europe

My trip with TUI due to depart on May 17th is no longer as I was able to cancel it and get a full refund because my Hotel was closed at the time of arrival.

I have invested the Money in the BA Sale and starting with Dublin in June am going on 8 short breaks around Europe.

Italy, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Germany, Turkey, Greece and Romania.

All are Club Europe from Edinburgh via Heathrow or LCY. Not sure my liver will survive all the Free Malt's. Most of the trips cost around a monkey for 3/4 Nights in a decent Hotel.

I should go from BA Blue to Gold in the course of 6/7 Months

This means next year when I book to Florida with BA I will be able to have Lounge Access and not have to pay for seats - even exit ones I believe.

The BA Sale is the way to go miniscule deposits with the balance only due three weeks before you go. Up till that point you can cancel with no penalty and get a voucher.

If there is another sale before you pay the balance you can cancel and rebook at the lower rate using your returned deposit voucher to knock off the balance.

It's win win with BA ... leaving Virgin, TUI and all the others in their slipstream.

Indeed that's why I am easing in with Ireland in June and the next proper foreign one not till July.

With the flexible cancellation policy it should be possible to observe the trend and cancel / rebook an alternative without to much trouble.

You have to make a decision three weeks out.

Sounds amazing! I’m jealous! Totally agree about BA and they’re new system, it’s a definite winner.

I don’t know what a “monkey” is but if you’re happy that’s what counts. I’m not convinced you’ll get to Europe before you get to the US but at least you have the flexibility to cancel if necessary. I’d like to go to Ireland but think I’ll get to Florida before that!

Personally I’d be happy to go out for lunch at this stage!
