Vlogging camera

Thinking of getting rid of my old camcorder and getting a vlogging camera. Any recommendations for one at a decent price?

It’s a bit like saying I’m buying a car- any recommendations - I could recommend a Fiat 500, someone else a Ferrari.
First question is what are you prepared to spend?

My criteria if looking for a vlogging camera would probably include:

Mirrorless
4k support
External Microphone port
View finder which flips around
Good Auto Focus and tracking
In body stabilisation
Light weight

Some of the Sony Mirrorless cameras would fit the mark, whether they would be in your budget would be the question.

You will find cheaper options which don't have all of those features, maybe no microphone socket, or fixed / no viewfinder. So really depends on what compromises you may be willing to make.

Sony ZV-1 seems to be made for vlogging and the A6400 might be a good option.

Not an area I have looked at really so just some suggestions, but not really investigated in any way for this purpose.

Probably Sony Zv1 or Panasonic D100.

If you wanted to step it up a level but it would cost £950 probably Panasonic G9- that’s bigger but best bang for the buck camera on sale IMO.
I have a G9, my ideal camera would be Sony A7Siii but that’s £3.5k.
G9 maybe less a Vlogging camera but just an amazing stills and video camera that with the right skill set produces stuff like this:

G7X Mk2 can still be had new and is a popular vlogging style camera.
The Mk3 replaced it but a lot of people are moving away from it due to constant focussing issues.

I'll likely be looking at the ZV-1 when it comes time to replace mine.

Mirrorless and lens based systems just seem a bit too bulky for my purposes. I just like whipping the camera out of my pocket to grab some footage when we're out and about.

We’ve been watching the g7x Mark 2 and the Mark 3 for a while and the price fluctuation is quite something! It’s high at the moment. Have read lots of reviews and think we’ll stick with the Mark 2 as even professional vloggers are still having focusing issues with the 3.
