We are having a roast, beef or lamb though as there are only 3 of us. DS is a veggie so even a turkey crown would be far too much for me and DH.

Be glad when it’s all over to be honest!

Jane

We're having a selection of bits that we fancy and I'll do slow cooked coke gammon. Did the same last year. The year before that we had Chinese takeaway in Florida and DD had microwave lasagne. We never have turkey and even when we have had a roast it has been with chicken, beef or even just with sausages.

I'm doing a Macaroni cheese pie and was thinking I might rustle up some corn bread too

Only problem you have is that turkey dinner isn’t really traditional

We are having pizza this year. I stopped doing roasts quite a few years ago, we dont eat loads at lunchtime and doing a roast meant a big meal and then visiting others, plus they'd all out food out too! I didnt like being in the kitchen and missing out on stuff so we just do party bits now, with pizzas this year

For us it’s fillet or sirloin steaks. Only had turkey once in the 32 years we’ve been married. On that occasion our daughter asked if we could have turkey as her school friends couldn’t believe she had never had it. So I got a free range Norfolk black from a golfing pal which she cooked perfectly following the Nigella Lawson method, about 2.2/3 hours with regular basting.

We never have a traditional Christmas lunch/dinner - in fact we don't eat roasts anytime.

OH suggested sweet and sour chicken, BBQ boneless wings and special fried rice this year so we will probably go for that, or just rake around in the freezer and decide on the day.
