You can download a specific photo on your iPad if you need it but it doesn’t download then all. You can find them through the google photos app so you don’t need them physically on the iPad.

Because I would like to put all my photos together that I have with some I already have on my iPad.

If you also sync the iPad then they will all be together in google photos. This is probably the safest place for them. If you lose your device or delete photos by mistake you will still have the copy in google photos.


Assuming you have an iPhone.
If you want them physically on the iPad then you could airdrop them across, or if both the iPad and the iPhone are on the same AppleId then you can turn on backup photos in ICloud and they will sync between. But this isn’t a proper backup. If you delete them from either device they get deleted from both and from the backup.


If you have an Android Phone, then I’d use Google Photos as your combined location and sync from both devices to the same google photos account.
