Car Hire - adding a driver
We are going to Orlando with Virgin in October (fingers crossed), for 3 weeks. Our DS is coming out to meet us half way through.
He would like to do some of the driving when he comes out. Does anyone know if it will be possible to add him onto the car insurance as he isn’t with us when we collect the car? |

Should be easy to add him, my brother has done so in the past - take him/his driving license to the car hire desk with your contract, or ask the OUT kiosk attendant. I park in car hire garages when picking up, lock the car, taking keys with me and flash the contract on the way out. If he's under 25 you may find it'll be very expensive otherwise it's circa $10 to $15 a day.

You can pop in to a local office at anytime to add on an additional driver. The lead driver and additional driver will need to go. They'll want to see driving licences, lead drivers cc / dc and rental voucher. Make sure the package you've booked includes the number of drivers you need otherwise they'll charge you the additional driver fee which is pretty expensive.
