I have been looking at resale DVC.

What is the Month quoted?

Is this the month bought or the Month they designated to stay in?
Or the month you can book?

It's the month when you get your points for the year.

It's referred to as your 'use year'. You get your points on the first day of the month and then you have a banking deadline four months from the end of your use year if you want to bank into next year.

So if I have points for 2021 with a month of August

I assume I can use the point anytime during the year and would have to bank them if not used by December .

August '21 use year points are valid for stays between 1/8/21 and 31/7/22. To bank them into Aug 22 you must do this before 31st March 2022.

If your vacation habits are similar each year then you should try and purchase a "use year" right before you normally travel. For example, an August use year works best for those that travel in August, September, October, November, December, January, February or March.
