At what age did your children leave home?

You hear stories of kids these days still living at home in their 30s etc, so wondering if that really is the case.

Our daughter is almost 21 and has decided that she’s at the point where she wants to have her own space etc in the next year or so. We think it will be good for her, so no worries there.

I was 22 when I left home, so it doesn’t seem too young, and a couple of her friends are also making the move.

Would love to hear from fellow Dibbers who have had their offspring fly the nest. Also, what age did you leave home yourselves?

I left home at 17 to go into Army.
My eldest son left home at 16, and other son left at 18. Things are not always easy and eldest son had several flats that i helped him set up over a few years as he was quite unsettled, but eventually they get there!

Both DH and myself must have had far too comfortable a life with our mums. I was 26 and DH was 29 ! We bought our first home and didn’t live together until we were married.

I was 23 when I officially moved out from my parents but I was hardly there from 18 onwards due to going to Uni and the police training college. My brother was 32 when he finally moved out, he had his fiancée living there for a couple of years too. 🙂
