Water Park Tickets

For many years we have held non-expiry tickets, but have now used up all our main park tickets.

On our forthcoming short visit we intend to use up some of our many remaining days of water park tickets. Are these tickets valid for any other attractions like WDW mini-golf?

A further question if I may, we wish to spend a day at AK to once again ride Avatar, again, hopefully without queuing for so long. Is our only option to buy a day ticket for the AK and then validate it in MDE for a particular day?

Yes.

I assume you originally bought the non-expiry Magic Your Way tickets that had a certain number of park days plus additional "fun" visits (at one point these were called MYW Water Parks Fun & More tickets, before that they were Park Hopper Plus tickets)?

If so, then you can use the "fun visits" to visit the waterparks or the mini-golf courses (you could've also used them to enter DisneyQuest before it closed). Every time you enter one of these will use up one "visit" - so if you visit a waterpark in the morning and play mini-golf in the afternoon then it uses 2 visits.

You'll need to buy a day ticket for AK but you don't need to validate it in MDE for a particular day. However you do need to ensure that you buy the correct type of ticket for the day you want to visit though. There are 3 different day tickets for AK; a Value ticket for off-peak days, a Regular ticket for normal days, and a Peak ticket for peak periods. Value tickets are cheaper than Regular tickets which, in turn, are cheaper than Peak tickets. I think if you get a Peak day ticket it is valid whenever you want to visit (although if visiting during an off-peak period then it would mean you would've paid more than you needed to).

Linking your tickets to MDE allows you to book your fastpasses before you go.
