Anyone upgraded universal 14 day tickets to preferred annual pass this year?
Hi we are going in may this year and I want to upgrade our 14day 3 park ticket to a 2 park preferred annual pass. Has anyone done it with 2018 prices and what did they pay please?
I know it’s $5 for seasonal pass but I would like parking included so want the preferred pass. Also don’t want volcano bay so just 2 park is fine. I did call universal guest services and they said I couldn’t use the ticket beforehand (but I have read people have done so) and will be whatever I paid plus the difference and today’s price is $350. I questioned about finding what we paid for the tickets and she said they will be able to tell. As we bought the tickets as a bundle not sure how that would happen. I’m not convinced it is based on what you paid in the uk for the tickets. Can anyone shed light on it? Edited at 04:22 PM. |

Following! Husband has the preferred annual pass. I have the 14 day and was thinking to upgrade when we go in April. Don’t need another preferred as we will have free parking with husbands pass. Is it really only $5 to upgrade to seasonal?

I’m looking to know this too! Would probably just upgrade one ticket to preferred as I think we could save the difference using the discounts alone and if we manage to make it back within the year, then it’s an even better deal😀

Well I’ve read on here some people paid $5 last year to upgrade but saw a recent post for this year somewhere where someone said was no charge to upgrade to seasonal pass. This I assume difference in between $5 and free is due to price increase on the uk tickets for 2018?
From what I have read on here, you can use your 14 day ticket at any park inc volcano bay and when you swap or bridge the difference (as long as it’s before the expiry from activating it I.e within 14 days) the cost is the current gate price for a 14 day ticket against whatever annual pass you want. Even if you visited volcano bay, can use it against just a 2 park AP without VB. So by my calculations :- Currently a 14 day 3 park ticket on universal.co.uk site to buy is £249 (roughly $336.15 @ £1 - $1.35) Currently a 2 park AP on universal.com site is Seasonal AP $284.99 Power AP $344.99 Preferred AP $384.99 Premier AP $539.99 So to swap a 14 day ticket at $336.15 to a preferred at $384.99 makes it $48.84. (Back to GBP @ $1.35 to £1) makes it £36.18. I assume this is all correct and perhaps if not someone could let me know? Hopefully if someone has done this this year then I can make sure it is right by current prices! Edited at 08:07 PM. |
