Why would she pay for a scooter if she's not disabled? An unnecessary expense?

In cases like that I would park behind them blocking both in and stick the disabled badge on the dash. They can then wait for you

My daughter is not a wheelchair user at home. However, we do hire a chair for her in Orlando as she has chronic kidney failure which means she is anaemic and tires very easily as the day goes on. I see people giving us funny looks sometimes when we park it up with the pushchairs and she stands up and walks to the ride entrance. Another hidden disability.

Same here. My son has a specialist Pushchair and he is nearly 8. He can walk fine but has ASD and Hypermobility and feels safer in the chair. We have a disabled sign on it now after being asked loads of times if he can get out of his chair and park it up with the other ones.

Well that’s ridiculous- surely people wouldn’t object to taking in proof to prevent the unethical parents who try to beat the system.
I wouldn’t want to think that the privilege would be removed altogether- that would be cruel 😔

I'm not sure even that would work.
I would imagine anyone can mock up a letter that looks official.

On my last trip it was the 1st time I have ever had to use a scooter, yes people do give you strange looks when you park up and walk to the entrance, but you know why you need to hire the chair, don't let other people put you off. I was told by CM after we parked in HS and the rest of my family had gone on the transport to get to the front of the park (I drove up on the scooter), that even if you haven't got a blue badge and use a scooter (or ECV) you can ask for parking closer to the entrance.

It's a small world, I too have had kidney failure (was born with it) had dialysis at 7 & a kidney transplant at 10 that is thankfully still going strong (which is the reason for our trip as it will be 25 years post transplant) I've had a full hip replacement, 3 foot surgeries (still recovering from the 3rd) & also like your daughter have amnesia, these are all hidden disabilitys which on a day to day isn't much fun, when it comes to using my blue badge I get all kinds of looks, it's a horrible feeling, I will battle through in Florida as the warm weather does help & I also appreciate that other people need help more than myself.

Congratulations in advance for your 25 year post transplant anniversary! It is lovely to hear of such successful transplants. My daughter is still hanging on to what bit of kidney function she has but, like you, will be needing a transplant in the future.
