We are in a similar position to you as we are a family of 6 (4 kids aged 17, 15, 14 & 10 when we fly), plus we are taking my sister-in-law. I am also surprised by the price rise this year compared with what we paid in 2011 and 2012.

I booked through Alamo Brits in November for our trip next year. We are away for 19 days and I booked a minivan for £485.60 by paying in advance. I had a look again this now and the price has gone up to £577.48! Alamo Brits was far and away the cheapest when I booked, hence the reason I booked early. On our 2 previous holidays in Orlando we booked through netflights.com, but they are looking at £598+/-, which would be an increase of around 25% against the 2012 price we paid. Shocking considering the good exchange rate at the moment.
