Urgent help please!

Hi we are flying tomorrow morning and we are at the Hilton at Manchester airport now.

We are renting a car from Alamo, do you need your full license including green part? We have forgot it

Yes you do, the car hire company can refuse the car without it and you would be in trouble if you couldn't produce it if stopped even if you got the car without it.

I have been with just my plastic card licence before.


can you do the online check in? if you can, you don't have to go to the rental office to produce your licence.

We had car from Alamo last week and I am sorry but they insisted on both parts so my husband had to open our case as paper part was at bottom. Sorry this is not what you want to hear.

Sorry, but yes both parts. In the UK your photo licence is not valid on its own, it needs both parts and you will most likely be asked for it.

I know a lot of people dont carry it but you actually should. This is changing soon but as it stands you will require it or you may not be able to hire a car and if you get stopped if the Officer is clued up you could be in bother!

I would go get it, pain, but you have yo do what you have to DO. Its a 3 hour drive according to Google, I would just bite the bullet and go get it. Sorry.
