I've also heard that you can't take uber from mco to idrive but instead you have to put your pin slightly off airport grounds and then get them to pick you up from the hyatt hotel, does that sound right? I'm thinking if I can save a few quid to ditch the hire car I've booked.

You CAN get UberBlack from MCO.

Really, if you want to save so few dollars I'm not sure you're going to have such a safe time..

for a trip in August/September, I'd wait until July-ish to find a good code for you, the best ones I can find at the moment expire at the end of June (but there are always codes for money off your first fare with Uber ).

thanks, i had my wires crossed, i see people use ubers to resorts and then bus to the parks to save paying the car park fees

you can use Uber all over WDW, at the resort hotels and the parks, Uber won't charge you any car park fees, because they are not charged any car park fees, because they don't use the car parks, they use the guest drop-off areas at all the resort hotels and parks.
