POR room question
Bit of a strange one as the question is not for me my daughters friend are going next year and a family of 4, her mum has asked me if she can 'pretend' to have a family of 5 and say the youngest is under 3 so no extra charge. This way they will get a room with a extra bed, there two children are twins (boy & girl) age 14 so don't want to share a bed.
Is this something you can do? I have no idea Do they not check all the passports when you check in (I can't remember from the YC last year) Thanks x |

I may be wrong but I thought the rooms were allocated to the groups where the 5th person was a child not an infant(who would get a cot provided)

Yes you can We've done this for the past 2 years by adding a fictional 2 year old to our booking. You need to make sure that the age is 2 at check in. Any younger and you won't necessarily get a room for 5 as under 2s can go in a cot. You can't do it if you book a package with flights though.
They don't check all the passports at check in either, so no need to worry about that either

Or they could book a preferred room and they'd get the Bayou. We've done that this year as our kids aren't of an age they'd share. Also closer to amenities

We went as 2 adults and one 2yo and got the room with the the extra bed so I don't think they're in short supply. Just got back from this years holidays and we were two adults, one 4yo and one infant and we had the same style room again. I think if you just request one then they'll get one

My DD is 5ft 6 and is happy on the pull down beds (slept on the at both POR and CBR). She's too long for them if she likes flat, but she sleeps curled up, so it's not a problem for us. DS is 13 and 5ft 9, so it's definitely no good for him so he has the second queen bed. Works well for us

If they book a preferred room they'll get the pull down bed and no need to lie. That said my DD wasn't comfortable on that when she was 11 and she's skinny.
