New York - The Big Apple Dining Report. Nov 15 (Warning! Does not contain fruit.) **COMPLETE**

I have just finished my Florida 2015 dining report so why not start another?!

This time it is from our 5 night stay in New York to celebrate my Fiance Andy's 30th Birthday. We were there from 25th - 30th November 2015

This report won't be as detailed as my others as I don't have notes about prices for anything. It will be more about sharing pictures of the yummy food, which is all people are really bothered about let's be honest.

Right let's kick this off!

Pre-Travel Day
Collage Restaurant - Radisson Blu Manchester Airport

Travel Day
Cafe Nero - Manchester Airport
United Airlines in flight meal
Rosie O'Grady's Saloon
Duane Reade snacks

Day 1 (Thanksgiving)
Brooklyn Diner
Buffalo Wild Wings
Duane Reade snack

Day 2 (Andy's Birthday )
Duane Reade breakfast
Levain Bakery
Hot Dog stand
Dylan's Candy Bar cocktails
Pig 'n' Whistle Irish Bar
John's Pizzeria
Birthday Cake!

Day 3
Heartland Brewery
Rangers Ice Hockey snacks
Gallo Nero
Duane Reade snacks

Day 4
Duane Reade snacks
Rainbow Room Sunday Brunch
Sugar Factory
Rosie O'Grady's
Duane Reade dessert

Day 5 (Travel Day)
Airport Food Court
United Airlines in flight meal

Duane Reade features quite heavily but it was right next door and had everything you could ever need.

Pre-Travel Day: Collage Restaurant Raddison Blu Manchester Airport

We hadn't booked and the restaurant was really busy but thankfully they squeezed us in. It was rather swanky.

I ordered a glass of Prosecco which came with a strawberry garnish (I know I lied this report does contain fruit, but that was seriously about it ). It was £7.50 for a small glass.

I guess Andy would have had a cider.

We both went for the Prime Minced beef burger which comes topped with bacon, cheese, house relish & served with skin on chips. These were £16 each because I just checked the online menu.

I love the cute little fries basket.

We got some lovely thick onion rings to share too.

These were lovely but they were that type where the onion slides out on first bite.

I asked for mayonnaise and got my own little pot.

This was a nice meal but I remember thinking it was quite expensive (airport prices now!).

Yikes, that's an expensive glass of prosecco! Bloody airport prices!

Love those little pots of mayo. I have a weird fondness for anything miniature and have been known to take home the little Heinz jars you get with room service in the USA (I think I still have some from our holiday to Orlando last year )

So glad you've started this already

To be fair, I had taken one small swig out of it, so it was slightly more full! Only slightly hehe.

I love miniature pots of anything too! I take them but can't actually bring myself to use them.

Thanks for commenting

Travel Day: Cafe Nero - Manchester Airport

I remember us faffing when it came to breakfast. We eventually ran out of time and had to just grab a snack from Cafe Nero.

Andy either ate his really quickly or it was something super boring because I don't have a photo of it.

I got a seasonal Gingerbread muffin.

It was really good. There were pieces of stem ginger inside the muffin which gave kicks of heat every so often. The creamy frosting stuff inside was nice and sweet, I loved that bit.

It was a great little snack to tide me over until lunch on the plane. Very festive too!

Travel Day: United Airlines in flight meal

We have flown to NY with United once before and I remember the food being OK so didn't take many snacks for the plane.

Andy chose the pasta dish.

It was weird, thick & rubbery. The filling inside what I think was cannelloni was all separated and looked a bit like scrambled egg.

I had this.

Andy ideas? No, me either! I think it was chicken in some curry sauce... with potatoes. All I remember was that the chicken had a really odd wet texture.

Look how watery it is at the top.

Both dishes got served with what I think is like a Barley salad & bread roll.

The salad was bland. At least the bread roll was edible

I will admit that dessert was rather nice though which is good as we were pretty hungry by this stage.

Rich chocolate ice cream with hidden truffle pockets.

They gave out cute little bottles of water too.

Later into the flight we were given cheese & crackers.

The cheese was a spreadable type.

As you will notice from the above, this was kind of separated as well. It had no taste and a horrible wet texture. Another loser.

The only thing that cheered me up was the amazing clear views we had - I think Andy told me it was over Canada.

The last "food" were were given was a warm turkey sandwich.

looks promising...

Ew no! really processed meat and cheese. The spread wasn't nice either. It was actually pretty disgusting and makes me feel sick thinking about it now.

I only took one bite and chucked it.

So over all it was pretty awful! At least we would be hungry for a proper tea later on.

That's it for now as I haven't transferred any more photos off the iPad onto Photobucket yet and it's at home.

The food on the flight looks vile. I would say thanks for sharing, but would rather you kept it all to yourself!

We were given those rank sandwiches too!
Ours was a very early flight so our main meal was breakfast. I had waffles with floppy, steamed bacon. Absolutely disgusting

That turkey sandwich! Horrible!

Made up you're doing another food report though you always seem to order what I would pick (especially drinks wise ) so I always find them super useful!
