The Grand Tour...Day 20 Last day in Vegas

I can’t believe today was our last day on the west coast…

We checked out by 10am and loaded up the car. Our plan this morning was to head to Red Rock Canyon via the Casino resort for buffet breakfast. However we had discovered that a Cracker Barrel had recently opened and as this is a firm favourite of ours in Florida we just had to go! In usual style we had to wait…think we waited an hour all in all. DH and DS popped across to Bass Pro whilst DD and I chilled in the rockers! We attempted to look around the shop but it was so ridiculously busy we couldn’t actually move!

Food was fab as usual however the wait for it was long. The staff were working their rear ends off and kept apologising, even the manager was running around and offering their apologies. I can’t find any photos which is strange but I had the fruit and yoghurt parfait breakfast, DD had Uncle Herschel's Favorite and the boys both had a fry up type thing.

From here we headed to Red Rock Canyon, again using our NPS card to gain access. The drive here was so scenic I just love seeing the mountain backdrop, I will really miss it.

We drove through the park taking in the views, it was lovely and I’m glad I have experienced it. I loved seeing the colours change with the different rock formations, it’s so fascinating!

Now I really want to visit Valley of Fire…NEXT TIME!

Next stop, South Outlets! I thought we had visited here before but now I’m not so sure. It was very different from the North one. We got lots of great buys here, DD bought a pair Levis 501’s and three tops for $38! I bought myself a Kate Spade bag which I had spotted before but wasn’t sure but as it was almost the same price of a bag from Primark I couldn’t resist!

It was almost 4pm and were a bit peckish so treated ourselves to some pecan cinnabons, wow they were soooo good! Once we had stuffed our faces we took a slow drive back to the strip and popped into Rios as we had purchased a groupon deal for the Kiss mini golf. I really liked this hotel, had a great vibe but compared to the ones on the actual strip it was very quiet. The golf was so much fun, we all really enjoyed it.

For our last meal in Vegas the kids wanted to go to In and Out burger, it was 44 degrees whilst we sat outside and ate, crazy! DS tried a 3x3 whilst I sampled the protein burger, it was wrapped in lettuce rather then a bun and was very messy to eat!

We then drove to the airport, dropped car off with no problems and headed to the terminal. We were leaving the West Coast and heading to Boston, MA. We were sad as we had loved our trip so far but we were also excited that we were about to experience another new place!

We flew with Jetblue, our flight left about 15 minutes late but we soon caught that time up in the air…

Steps today; 12,761

Floors climbed; 9

Red Rock seems such a beautiful place to visit!

Hope the flight is more peaceful than the one to LAX!

It was lovely, smaller than I thought though.

Aha, you'll just have to read on...

We went to Cracker Barrel on a Saturday morning, to our surprise we only had to wait 15 mins for a table.. Which is unusual on race weekend.

But the server told us at weekends there are often 2 hr waits! .. No way would I ever wait that long...

Red Rock canyon looks lovely. We are considering visiting it on our road trip in august. How far a drive is it from Vegas itself?

I really quite fancy a trip to Red Rock, it looks so gorgeous and only 20-25 minutes drive, that's a possibility.
