Alternatives to airline food

Not sure if this has ever been asked before...
My wife hates airline food so just hunting for ideas of what people take on board which you can buy airside, meals or snacks, something a bit different even.

It doesn't matter, if your wife likes corned beef sandwiches, she can take them through.

She can bring whatever she likes. If she hasn't eaten any meat, fruit or dairy just throw it away on the plane.

If you want something nice, both wagamama and the Wonder Tree will do meals/snacks to take away. The crew won't be able to heat them though. The is also a pret which does nice sandwiches, but wonder tree has a great patisserie area.

As others have said. Easy really. Boots or M&S for sandwiches or just make your own and take them with you.

Obviously you have to buy drinks airside but otherwise take your own sandwiches, pork pie, sausage rolls, quiche or whatever. Just make sure you leave any leftovers on the plane though as ILHO says.

Joan has a serious allergy to onions which they manage to put into all airline food - yes even the cheesecake so she just asks for the cold tray with all the accompaniments on and doesn't bother with the hot option at all.
