Overall I was utterly underwhelmed with LA and although we are doing Warner Bros and Universal next year, it will be straight in then straight out towards Arizona.
Part of me wants to get it a bit wrong so we have good reason to go back!

Thanks. I think the perfect holiday would take at least 6 weeks by the sound of things!

I could cancel them (and 2 car bookings) and get refunds to adjust the dates but I don't think we'll get the hotels or cars at the same price now when we rebook. Both my daughters will want beach time in LA before we hit the road for 2+ weeks and they'd be perfectly happy to spend all 5 on Santa Monica.

I'm hoping 2 nights at Yosemite will be enough for us. My wife has a dodgy knee so we can't do any real trekking and will be limited to pootling round on the organised tours. Our original 2020 plan was just to drive the Tiago Pass and not go in to the valley so we're on a plus from that!

I'd love to do Six Flags and Knots Berry but my 11 year old daughter isn't a big coaster fan so might need to covert her first. Are they similar entry fees to Disney/Universal?
The parks were cheaper than Disney/Universal but the rides were much more extreme - especially six flags. Knotts Berry had something for everyone but I would wait until your youngest is up for the big rides - great excuse to go back!

Whatever you do, you will have a great time, we played around with our free cancellation bookings for a few months as I kept checking the price and seeing a better deal at times. From the time of booking everything to the time of going we managed to save £600 on the hotel bookings by cancelling and booking with another website (and sometimes back again). Agoda and Booking.com seemed to have some big differences over the months even though I think they are owned by the same company. It keeps us on our toes and I always like to think I’m having a bargain even if I let the cost run away with things

I've also booked The Venetian based on the comments in this thread: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1179711
