Magic bands 2 years old! New ones?

Hi, I purchased magic bands in May 15 for our 2 week holiday. Returning in Aug 17... will I need to buy new ones or will these still be ok? Heard people say in the past say they only last 2 years, wondering if anyone has had experience of using them when they are older than this!

There was another post on this recently which might be useful if you do a search. The view seemed to be that they might well still work, and they should always work for park entry and fast passes, it's the long range bit (used for automatically adding ride photos and videos) that might not. The suggestion was to buy one new one amongst your group to get the videos etc.
we're in a similar situation, ours are from august 2015 and we're going again feb 2018

I would suggest new ones to be sure - as far as I'm aware they have very small batteries in them that over time will discharge and stop working.

Ours from 2 years ago still worked for entry and fastpasses but did not pick up ride photos and videos.

I looked at the thread today , they will still work but not for videos and use your ticket for photos just in case or until you buy new bands.

Shame we can't get in them easily, they have CR1620 batteries that cost peanuts

Mine worked for 2 years but whilst away I had to buy a new one as it wouldn't let me in the parks and fast pass wouldn't work either, got a new one and worked fine.
