That's why the 14 day ticket exists.
nail on head

they want to compete direct with disney, expanding the onsite offerings , a new water park , all designed to keep you there onsite, spending..

the 14 day ticket is good value if you use it more than 3 or 4 times

imo of course

Totally agree that it is now one or the other, Universal or Disney World, but, only if you are staying onsite, if you are off site with a car and bought the Orlando Freedom ticket you can do it all, which may be an option for us in the future.

Complete change of attitude on this, I've been outvoted by my wife and daughter and we have to do Universal apparently, but, we are doing it without Express Passes. I have come to the conclusion that, hopefully, the opening of the new Volcano Bay Water park will take a significant amount of people away from the other two theme parks leaving the crowds a lot smaller... I can always hope.

We're going to have a huge breakfast, take food with us and have something to eat at Disney when we get back around 9pm.

So in all it should cost around £450 using Uber...we shall see.

Why don't you use the single rider line for the big rides, we have 4 kids and we always do that, you can't really chat when you are on the rides, and due to the speed of them you are always close to each other, often on some of the rides especially the Harry potter you can get put as 2 or 3s to fill up a row so you ride together anyway

You will have a fantastic time. Buy a refillable mug for drinks and share to save money. Now you have made the decision to go just enjoy.

Leave it as late in your holiday as you can and you shouldn't need express passes anyway. US schools are back in fron mid August and the parks really quieten down

I read this thread with great interest, it is our first trip to Florida and Disney in Sept 2018 but we're all massive Harry Potter fans so I was planning on going for just the day. Am I right then in thinking we can get an über from The Disney resort to Universal and just pay at the gate for the day?

I don't know anything about them, have no experience and have not researched their reliability, but I notice these guys are doing three 1 day two-park Universal tickets for $339 ($150 off):

magicalgetaway.com

My kids simply wouldn't allow us to miss Universal - it's become their favourite place to visit

This is a timeshare scam company. Best avoided!
