Don't even get me started on the VR garbage.
It massively slows down throughput and what is the point of having a rollercoaster when all you're going to see is a screen with outdated graphics? I really can't stand how many theme parks are jumping on this bandwagon when VR will not be in fashion in 2 years time. Most people hate the idea of VR too, forcing it on theme park goers doesn't make sense. |

Now I wouldn't mind a rollercoaster where you sat on your own broomstick, Gryffindor Vs Slytherin and you had to race through the Hogwarts grounds to catch the snitch.
Now you'd be thinking, how can you have a rollercoaster whilst you're riding a broomstick. I would suggest the restraint system would be similar to that found on the motorcycle rides such as Velocity at Flamingo Land and Tron at Shanghai Disneyland. But this is Universal - it won't happen... |

I hope the rumours aren't true I love going on both these coasters! If they are going to replace them then I agree it should be with another coaster. They definitely don't need any more screen based rides that's for sure.

Is it August 2016 again?
https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...d.php?t=977622 This rumour keeps cropping up. I guess it's only a matter of time before it comes true. On the one hand, it'd be a shame if they got rid of this coaster and didn't replace it with another coaster. IOA only has two big coasters at the moment as it is! And replacing it with a screen-based ride just seems... lazy. Come on Universal, do something different. On the other hand, Dragon Challenge no longer agrees with me. I used to love it but I now come off feeling dizzy and slightly ill. Whereas I still enjoy screen-based rides. So I wouldn't mind if they replaced it with something else. I just hope they incorporate something innovative and new if the rumour is true.

That's what I was going to say!
Seems the like of Dragon challenge is not universal (geddit!) - I dont think I have ever seen the line longer than 10 mins- and most of that is the walk through the very long line - its never been a popular ride. I'm all for new things, keep it fresh, agree they don't really need another screen based ride, after fast and the furious opens they will have more than enough - unless they think of something new and radical?

I think they are wrong to pull both coasters out - just because they don't fit 'Harry Potter'. They were great rides and one of my favourite coasters. I got to ride them just as Harry potter opened, and they were still dualling.
Maybe they are not as good not they don't dual. This news is making me want to go for a day just to islands to ride them all day if the Q is only 10 mins |
