Wow shanghai pirates. Just wow!
I have to say I don't live potc at WDW but we always go on it. The one at Paris is so much better and I think it's just ruined the WDW one for me. But it's still a classic Disney ride and we all sit and sing the song all the way round. Apologies to anyone who has ever been on it with my family. (We're the people who happily sing it's a small world all day long too! In fact our youngest has a musical cot toy that plays that tune!)

The pirate boat scene looked different last year when I went on it. Does anyone know if they have made any changes to that area? It wasn't as dark or smokey from what I remember?

Just watched the Shanghai video. Mind. Blown. Thank you for posting it.
The original ride is a classic nostalgia fest for me too. I was watching the first POTC movie the other day and marvelled at how much the Tortuga scenes absolutely nailed the ethos of the ride. But if I went in expecting it to be the other way around, I can see why I'd be disappointed. |

I think the one in DLP is much better than Orlando, I loved the Paris ride and went on it several times, the Orlando one left me a bit meh.
