Worst airline on the trans Atlantic route imo. But if you have to, as I do occasionally it is bearable. Well below Virgin and AA standards. And way way below the likes of Air Zealand.

You get drinks, yes. You’ll need them!

There is the old "the planes are shabby and old" again.
last time I heard this was against Virgin before they upgraded their old and shabby 747s.
BA are in the midst of upgrading the cabins on the 777 fleet, but unlike Virgin they have a very large fleet to update. Thomas Cook/TUI do not own their aircraft, rather charter them for certain months only.

Whilst the VS 747s are OK, (dated airframes) at least they are better than the current crop of 787s they have had to take out of action to replace the engines, and instead are using A340 which people are complaining are wait for it...Old and Shabby and the IFE doesn't work and no PE.
(I should also say, that this issue effects not just Virgin, but every 787 Dreamliner out there with Rolls Royce engines, so BA and Norwegian as well)

If you are travelling in economy, both BA and Virgin will get you there in a seat, feed you bland basic food, that's about all you can expect in economy, sorry

Hope your right about the upgrades, but Virgin planes compared to BA, Virgin wins hands down on every trip I have made.

That would be because the fleet IS old and shabby due to deliberate under-investment. Ya maybe think?

And citing a competitor as being just as bad is no justification or defence. Other international carriers offer superior service at affordable prices without acting like economy means inferior. But if you want to settle for low standards, you'll get them.

No, the majority of BAs fleet is very good with good cabins, ife and service. The B&S routes however are different class, BA like virgin, cater business flights and routes with better aircraft, as do many other airlines, AA for example.

Struggling a bit with your reasoning Warkman.

A lower standard of economy is acceptable on "bucket and spade" routes versus economy on other routes from the same airline?

And passengers should accept it without complaint?

We have very different views if so. 😁

In what ways is BA the worst ? Some examples would be useful because we don’t all have the same priorities. Xx
