We are in Dorset, we have a Nest thermostat and when the temp goes below our set level (20) the heat goes on. Over the last couple of weeks it has averaged a couple of hours each day.

Our heating is on. We were just using the gas fire for a while but it was so cold when we left the room that the timer was switched on. 3 hrs at night, 1 in the morning.
Getting too old to be cold. |

Just the odd time for an hour or so mainly to finish off drying clothes.

No, it’s not turned off as such - it’s set to come on if the house drops below 5 😂. I would usually now have turned that up so it comes on. However, going as long as we can this year to save money.

Our heating has been on all year, thermostat set to 19 during the day and 17.5 at night. Our summer has been poor, we haven't been out of winter clothing and refuse to be cold. We turn the temp up, especially when its rainy and damp, as we wish.

Ours is always on. It kicks in when needed. I can’t understand being cold when we live in a modern world where it’s not necessary.
We don’t walk around in shorts and we do have jumpers and blankets around. But if it’s cold the heating will kick in. |

For many people it isn't a choice, they simply can't afford central heating.
