British Airways seat booking for children

We have booked BA Heathrow to JFK in Oct, first time and so excited! My youngest will be 11, will we still get seats allocated together before check in opens or is it under 11? Thanks.

My DS was 11 when we flew with BA in August and we were allocated seats together about 6 days before departure.

You can always go on the BA site and pay for advance seat reservation, I literally just did it now for my flights out and back this October.

Thank you, I thought it was 11 but just wanted to check before I paid to book seats.

Under 12s are considered as children on BA, so a group with an 11yo at time of travel will get seats assigned in advance.
