You HAVE to prebook for the Vatican. Queues are insane.

We had a Roma Pass for the other attractions which also included all public transport. We used their metro system quite a lot.

The Omnia pass seems to include Vatican and Sistine Chapel with fast track to these and the Colloseum.

Definitely make sure you prebook for the Vatican tours - you could pretty much be queuing all day if not!

If you're planning to see the Colosseum whilst you're there as well, then try and book a guided tour that includes the dungeons and the top tier! We did this when we went around 4 years ago and you get through locked gates that others cannot get through. We booked our tickets (Colosseum & Vatican tours) through TickItaly and they were great when our flight times changed and we needed to adjust the time of our Vatican tour!

On our last day we basically just walked around Rome, down the river, checked out the markets and we went to the Trevi Fountain at night! It was still packed out even then!
