Another nice pub is the New Inn in Tywardreath. They have a lovely bistro there. My nephew works there. Look for the hulking great teenager!

It's right by the gate as you drive in to the holiday park!

We loved it there. Strange things children remember, they had a machine that they put mashed potato through and then fried the twirly result. Best fries ever!

Ha ha! Sounds yum! The holiday park looks really nice, although I'm not sure if we'll be allowed to used any of the facilities. The house we've rented is the old gate lodge to the Manor House in the holiday park.

We spent a couple of weeks staying between Looe and Polperro last summer. Polperro is lovely for a wander and we had a good meal at the Crumplehorn which is the big pub at the top of the road. When the tide is out you can take dogs on the beach and there are some great rock pools, when the tide is in, there is no beach!

Looe is great, the main beach doesn't allow dogs though. Crabbing is brilliant fun and we made friends with another family who helped us find our feet.. spent ages by the walkways near the carpark and caught loads. They like bacon

What amazed us was how dog friendly all the shops and restaurants were. It was lovely being so welcomed.

Talland Bay, which sits between Looe and Polperro allows dogs, very rocky, so great for rock pools. Lovely beach cafe too - it sits on the coast path where you can walk around to Polperro.. get there early for parking though.

There are some National Trust beaches further round the coast on the way to Polruan (get the foot passenger ferry from here to Fowey) where you can let the dogs off. Surf can be a little rough here though. Agree re The Lugger, sneaked in very early evening and got a table that had been reserved for later before it was needed. recommend booking ahead.

One of our favourite days was the lost gardens of Heligan, dog friendly and great fun.. made a tent from poles and tarps, picniced in the meadows and just had an idyllic day.

Get used to reversing.. roads are very narrow
