I'm curious, is your son staying in university accommodation, and is that catered or self-catering? It is a very brave move for him to choose to study abroad in such a different language/culture - it is daunting enough going away to uni when you're in the same country!

Hi

His is guaranteed university accommodation for his first two years (it is a 4 year degree). He shares a room with two others - it says this is fine though he doesn’t spend much time there except to sleep . It is neither catered nor self catering - there are lots of food options on campus. He spends about HK$100 a day on food.

The university language is English. He actually has an advantage there over most students as very few are native English speakers!

He seems to be loving it - it is a lot of work but he thrives on that. For him, it is a dream come true!

The tram looks steep to me and the views at the top were stunning, great views of the city. A shame about the clouds as I'm sure you could have seen a long way if it hadn't been so hazy.

The boat ride and market sound interesting. Pizza again for dinner! Nice that you could treat him to what he wanted.

Another fabulous day, I love the tram ride, what fabulous views, pity the weather was not a little clearer for you.
I love the home baking shop, what a brilliant idea! Baking a cake but not having the mess to clear up afterwards!

There is bound to be another trip on the tram in the future At least there was a kind of view

Pizza - I think this week has helped to satisfy his pizza cravings!

I hadn’t considered not having to clear up afterwards. I do wonder if they really do end up like the pictures though
