thanks :-) It just seems like I have always been told you need 6 months when travelling abroad that I just assumed it didn't matter where you go. do you know where on the GOV website it says that? I think I will print it to take with me.

Passport validity Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. You don’t need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this.

Hi, sorry to jump onto this thread, but I already have a Esta that is in date for my travel dates this August however my passport will only have 12 days left on it when we return. I know you all say that you don't need any dates left afterwards, but would you leave it with so few or renew and then organise another Esta? Many thanks for your thoughts
