Great thanks all. So it seems there is a distinct possibility of cheap flights in august. Did anyone know in advance the AA flash sale was going to happen? I wonder if there is a mailing list I can sign up for AA news and offers.

Nope, I don't think anyone knew about the pricing.

The only way I managed to get it was being constantly on here and looking at the cheap Aug flight post. Seriously, I lived on here and had requested emails if someone posted on the thread.

You needed to be on the ball and as soon as someone posts about cheap flights then you need to book. With AA they did have a hold for 24 hours option which was great so we could hold flights then check with our friends if they were happy.

I seem to recall a fellow Dibber posted the deal. I just happened to be showing friends the forum and saw the post. Have to say I left my friends to it and hastily booked flights! I thought it was a misprice (this is our first trip to US as a family and also doing it DIY), so was unsure. I believe it was a flash sale for a few hours. Had to officially join thedibb after that to thank the OP! However now I have set myself up to getting prices like that again!

Ooh ive read all 400 odd pages of that summer glitch/cheap flights thread. It was fascinating reading. I will definitely be subscribing to the 2018 version. Can anyone start it?

We paid £460 per adult flying from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale with Norwegian 21.08.2017 and back 04.09.2017. The price includes luggage and meals. We booked it about two months ago.
