Thomas Cook Welcome Meeting 2018

Can I ask has anyone returned recently from a TC package holiday? If so where was the welcome meeting. Asking because last time we were there in 2012 it was at Universal Boardwalk TC paid for the transport there so instead of going back to POR we did Universal Studios. Trying to plan our first full day and if it is still at Universal it would be worth attending if only for the free transport.
How cheeky am I?

I would ask what the point is in attending a welcome meeting. Seems like a waste of precious time.

Spend two or three days on theDIBB and you'd probably be more qualified to run your own welcome meeting out there, and more informative too.

Thinking more arrive courtesy of TC spend an hour then visit the park. If it isn't at Universal Boardwalk I wouldn't attend at all. Looking at convenience for us really, as we are going to use public transport or uber otherwise. Like you I don't see much point as it isn't our first time.

I can still remember attending my first one, at the Marriott on International Drive in 1990 from memory and then queuing up to buy tickets from the rep for the newly opened Universal Studios, Wet and Wild, Florida Mall / Gatorland day out and of course various Disney tickets including a character breakfast. How little we knew in those days!

I think that as a dibber and return visitor, in probability, you know a great deal more than the rep. I would take the transport and slip away without even attending.

They’ll do them as long as there’s a chance to make extra $$$. We went to one in the 90’s and they told us to throw away all our UK bought sun lotion because it would be useless in the Florida sun!😳 As luck would have it, they had a load of theirs that we could buy!🤔

I would agree with others, do you need to go? Do you get something out of it?
