All the stuff around the SOL looked fab! We went in 2011 and it was amazing, but the Statue itself was shut for a year for a massive refurb, so we didn't get to go inside or see the exhibitions there at all - such a shame. Ah well, we will have to go back then ...

We loved Ellis Island though, so interesting! I think you need another visit without the teens, you can learn so much about the history of immigration to the area in there.

Great report so far, loving it as usual. Keep up the good work, we all really appreciate it!

WE had a lovely day - so many sights, warm sunshine and proper pizza - perfect

Thank you Yes, we found the same in Washington as there were a number of places we could have spent hours in reading stuff but definitely one for just the two of us.

Ah, thanks - it was worse at ESB as we opted to do the last 8 flights by stairs rather than the lift. OMG, talk about feel the burn

Totally get what you mean about noise! We live in the sticks too and last week I was in London for work and I couldn’t sleep for the racket!

Wow your photos from the ferry are stunning! It looked like a beautiful morning too!

I would like to go to Ellis Island, we never made it last time!

Looks like you'd a great morning and managed to fit both in before lunch. Can I ask what are the options at SOL. My youngest is in a wheelchair so restricts some of the things we can do, But is there a lower level we can go into to or do we just look at it from the outside. Sorry if that sounds like a silly question.

Lovely start to the day, we haven't managed to get over to SOL in two trips! A definite reason to return.
