Again whether it makes “a ripple” or not in certain work environments does not make it right.

As stated before, my view is reason was correct, delivery style wasn’t.

I don’t know “Tom” from Adam... I do think he’s odd, and that outburst confirmed it*

* In my humble opinion.
I think it’s all about context , a few juicy words in say a factory where they are in common usage on the floor are very different to a civil service office where they aren’t .
I think it should also be remembered that Tom is an actor and consider if it was a spontaneous outburst or if it was done that way for impact when polite reminders failed to resolve the situation !

It’s not about context, if language is deemed unacceptable then it’s not allowed, full stop! It’s irrespective of the workplace or whether you are an actor or not...

The language doesn't bother me.

It’s the intent that matters.
I’ve seen workplace bullying without a naughty word uttered far more vicious .

I haven’t seen or heard what he said. I don’t like bad language at all, but I do know from experience when you are shocked or suddenly shocked fowl language can happen.
I do think all employers etc need to take a zero tolerance attitude to the rules of covid. We are talking about life and death. If you can not follow the rules then you should be sacked. There are so many people desperate for work and willing to follow the rules.
Its not just their own safety they were risking but the whole work place.

My DH works in a factory, the bad language used there would shock many but, rightly or wrongly, it’s accepted in this environment.

I feel Tom Cruise had strong feelings over this, therefore the language was simply the way he demonstrated his anger.

I do feel workplaces need to be stricter on employees who break Covid rules. A work colleague of my DH went into work the day after a positive Covid test, as it was a weekend and he would have missed out on his overtime pay if he hadn’t gone in 😡 The next day he phoned in to say his test was positive as he was then paid his wage for his regular week’s pay. When he returned, he received a final warning, however he had risked many worker’s health and possibly lives by going in to earn his overtime pay 😢
