Question Can I buy one Disney ticket and still make ADR's?

To help spread the cost of buying tickets I was thinking of buying one Disney/universal ticket each month. Once I have got one ticket can I book ADR's using this or do I need all of them? Haven't been to Disney in 6 years and things seemed to have changed a bit. Am I right in thinking you use your ticket now to make bookings? Please help!

You don't need a ticket to book ADRs you just need an MDE account. You will need a ticket to get to any reservations at restaurants in the parks, but not for restaurants in resorts or at Disney springs. You will need tickets for each person you want to book fastpasses for, but that's not until 30 days out (60 if you are staying on site).

Don't worry, you don't need the tickets to book the ADR's. I have ADR's booked but no tickets yet.

What's a MDE account? We are not staying on site. Thanks for your response

An MDE account is a my Disney experience account, go to the Disney website to set it up. You will need it to book fastpasses whether you are on or off site. You can also use it for dining reservations (ADRs), although you can also phone to book these. I suggest you have a look in the guidebook section of the Dibb for more info on MDE, ADRs and fastpasses.
