I’m not sure - even if we take them in a sealed new box does anyone know?
Always take teabags (sealed on the way out, but don't think it matters) and one of the refill sachets of coffee. Been told we don't need to declare, but always do.. it says food. Take Marmite and a big bar of Cadburys too, so covers all.

Thanks, should have known that was too good a price!

I'll get a dual voltage one ordered.

Do you just declare it on the forms they give you on the plane? I’m an obsessive tea drinker. It nearly killed me last time we went having to drink coffee first thing all the time after trying the most revolting US teabags- never again! I need at least two cuppas in a morning before I can have a conversation with anyone 😂!

You can be confident that there will be Dibbers who will say "the officer said we shouldn't declare coffee and tea bags" and it's good that some officers choose to interpret their own laws so liberally. However one day they will encounter an officer who interprets the law to the letter.

The attached US C&BP link (which I post monthly ) is perfectly clear that tea and coffee are admissible. It's also perfectly clear that if you don't declare you may risk a substantial fine.

We declare coffee because I don't consider that I can choose which laws apply to me and which don't.

If you are still given the customs form then yes just tick "yes" to food. More and more though now people are going through the automated kiosks. They ask the same questions though so tick yes again to food.

Has anyone been watching the ‘tea’ drama on Last Laugh In Vegas?
So typical of us English and our love and need for a cuppa. 😂😂😂😂😂
