She may have been a dietitian (which does require you to be properly qualified and registered with the HCPC). I can't remember now - it was 15 years ago! Whatever, she was registered and working for the NHS.

Anyway, what she was doesn't matter. Some salads are worse for you than some burgers - and at the time McDonalds salads were particularly bad. Just because it's a salad doesn't mean it is healthy, has less calories or is less filling.

Again, I'm not arguing that all meals are large; you can get smaller portions. And I'm a big fan of the dining plan, especially when it's "free" (you're paying for it somehow, it's just hidden). It's just that America is renowned for it's large meals:

That steak is big enough for two people!

And the spag bol is as big as my daughter's head!

Oh I didn't know about this! Am just looking at the menu now - many thanks 😊

My daughter was served a chicken dish at House of Blues, Disney Springs. It tasted fabulous (I know because we all got some and there was still half a henhouse left on the plate), but when the waitress served it she simply said "Good luck!" to my daughter.
Portions can be large for sure!
