I’m confused, why would you not be able to pay out of pocket for your child at a buffet? You don’t get forced to use credits anywhere.

You can, but the OP would have to pay the adult price, not the child price as the child is 10, so it's not a good or economical way to use dining plan credits. If the child was 9, but had been upgraded to the adult dining plan, then they could pay the child's price oop for the buffet and save the adult TS credit towards another meal or signature restaurant. With a child of 10+ they can only do that at restaurants with standard menus (Coral Reef, Be Our Guest etc) rather than places that have fixed child/adult prices like buffets, character meals, dinner shows, dining packages etc.

I realise that but I didn’t see that question being asked, that’s all.

I guess I took the question as where it can/can't be done whilst paying oop for a child's meal. Yes, you can do it in every restaurant if you want (although it doesn't make sense to), but I thought the op wanted to pay for the child's menu and save the adult TS credit, which their follow up post would suggest. I thought it would also be useful to put all the information about ages etc for anyone else reading the thread and wondering the same sort of thing ie - can I pay a child's price oop for my aged 10+ child and save the TS credit

I'd have hated to tell the op that they can do it anywhere for her then to get a big bill for her son for Tiffins ROL package
