The place just has a great ambience and we have always been well looked after. I would say you are making the correct choice for your birthday meal.
I think that is why we chose Chefs de France finally, the fact that it is for my birthday meal. We felt the French theming and the menu were more to my taste than Homecomin (which would have been more DDs style). I totally agree both look very good, it just depends on what type of meal you want.

Chef De France is a really nice restaurant, and others are correct, it is like being in France, with one exception...

All the staff are friendly and smile - i've never had that in a French restaurant in France.

The Prix Fixe menu is pretty nice, Three courses.

Highly recommend the Onion Soup to start - to die for...

Could we have the Prix Fixe menu for 1ts credit? Seems very good value if so.

We did this last year and was really impressed with it and it is definitely underrated.
I only choose it as it has simple steak and fries for my picky eater teen and didn't want to use 2credits for le cellier(My normal choice) but it was a pleasant surprise.

I had the Prix Fixe menu for 1tc and was really good value. The onion soup was very nice and a massive portion for a starter. Our server was lovely too.

I would definitely do it over le cellier again

Ate there a few days ago. Food was fantastic as was service. Our waiter, Elias, couldn't have been better.

Beef fillet was lovely, well cooked and flavourful.

Highly recommend it.

Thanks Peacemaker and JCT-UK, good to hear you enjoyed your meals there too. It does seem to be generally liked, of course everyone is different and I appreciate the more negative feedback too. It does seem to be somewhere we will enjoy though.

I'm thinking of changing my ADR at Via Napoli now to Chef de France, the prix fixe menu looks really nice and you seem to get more value for money.
