Collecting free magicbands - question

Hello, have 3 14 day ultimates. Got the email with barcode to swap for tickets at the theme park and a voucher to be swapped for free magic bands at World of Disney at Disney springs.

Question - can I go straight to Disney springs on my first day to collect our free magicbands or do I have to get my tickets from a theme park window first before they will give me the bands?

You dont need to collect your tickets, link the reference number to your MDE, then you can make your FPs. You then link your magic band to your MDE. No need for the tickets, unless you want souvenirs.

I already linked the reference number so I'm fastpass ready. So I can just go straight to Disney springs on the first evening, collect the magic bands and have them linked up to MDE and they will function as our tickets without having to exchange the other voucher at a park gate?

That's great news, Saves time one way or the other.

Yes, that's correct.

You only have to exchange the ticket voucher if you want plastic cards. Anyone who has MagicBands doesn't need to get plastic cards.

Thanks for the info. Definitely going to go to Disney Springs the first evening and collect the bands then. Might grab a bite to eat whilst there. Haven't been since they revamped the whole area so should be good!
