Another annual pass query - sorry!
I’ve read a few threads on this but I’m still slightly confused so looking for very straight forward answers please (think guide for dummies 😂
We are here now, day 5 of our 21 day disney ultimate passes. We are booked to return next March/April (not Easter though) so we’re thinking of upgrading to annual passes. At guest relations today we were quoted the equivalent of £330 but not sure which annual pass this was. Can anyone advise which pass we need - want to book fast passes in advance, parking, photopass, ability to park hop and water parks. I’ve read that by upgrading we may lose this holidays fast passes and photos - is this correct? Anything else I need to consider, going to Disney springs tomorrow so will go ahead then if it’s woryhwhile. TIA x

You need the Disney Platinum Plus annual pass.
You won't lose your photos. You can hold 7 days fast passes with an annual pass, so you *may* lose any fast passes after that. When we upgraded our 21 day passes we waited until the last full day so that we wouldn't have any problems with Fastpasses etc. |

I upgraded ours on day 3 it kept all our Fastpass's we were staying on-site we upgraded to the one without the waterparks only had the 14 day ticket. You do get the 20% discount in the Disney shops and usually a 10% at the shops in Disney Springs this save us quite a bit of money nothing on MDE changed all the ADR's and fast passes our photo pass photos were still on the account. Not sure if you are staying on-site if you are nothing will change on MDE.

If you want water parks you will need the highest tier AP Platinum Plus disneyworld.disney.go/en-eu/passes/ - this may increase your upgrade cost a little bit.
When I upgraded last year from a Magic Your Way 10-day park hopper, I definitely didn't lose any photos (in fact all my old photos popped up on my Memory Maker). I don't remember losing any of my pre-booked FPs either, but I was also staying on site for the entire duration so the AP 7-day limitation on FPs wouldn't have applied to me. Would check with the CM about the FPs and see if they either know or can offer a solution to it! Definitely worth upgrading if you go twice in a year especially because you also then get all the other perks like merchandise/food discounts, discounts on tours, etc!

Try Guest Services at Hollywood Studios, consistently reported as best price for upgrades- whilst obviously the AP price doesn't differ it's all down to how they work out how much your pass is worth, not necessarily what you paid for it!

As already mentioned, if you want access to the water parks (and mini-golf!) then you require the Platinum Plus annual pass.
The difference in price between your 21 day ticket and the Platinum Plus is around $500 including tax. Which is about £380. Although it depends on how much they value your 21 day ticket at, as Shooby doo says. You may have been quoted the upgrade price for a Platinum pass which doesn't include waterpark access. The price difference should be around £300 for that.

Bear in mind that if one of the reasons for buying an AP is to get free parking, you are better off doing it at the beginning of your holiday. If you do it at Disney Springs or a water park, you will not need to pay for parking.
