Car Hire help please

Hi All,
We are coming back to Florida in October and looking for best car hire options.
Party of 6, 4 adults 2 children (13&10)
Previously hired a Toyota Sienna and the back 2 seats folded down and the car had a deep well in the back. Kids are a lot bigger now so maybe need something a little bigger.
Chrysler Pacifica looks similar to the Toyota but been looking at the Chevrolet Suburban. Has anyone on here had the Chevy?
Hoping that we can seat 2 upfront 3 behind and 1 in the back with the other 2 seats folded down allowing room for 6 suitcases and carry on luggage. Any pics would be great.
Also has anyone taken up car insurance separate from the hire company?

Thanks in advance

We have had a suburban. You would need the long wheel based. Also it would depend how it is configured inside. We have always had it with the captains seats in the back but you can get it with bench seats but there is loads of room in it

Boot space on Burb this held 6 suitcases a bridal gown and various carry on bags.
Sorry for poor quality but you can see the size
The Suburban comes as Standard 233 config for seating.
223 is customer order only.
Most will be 233.
The Suburban is a long wheelbased Tahoe.
Enjoy.

I've had separate car hire insurance through insurance4carhire for when we went to Germany. I didn't make a claim though so I can't say how good it was.

We've just come back from a 4A and 2C trip. Hired via BA/Avis.

As duncanb says, a Suburban (or a 12 seater) is what you need. But be warned, just because you want a Suburban doesn't mean its what they will provide at first go.

We knew we needed a Suburban for luggage when we booked group L with Avis, who promote that model as the likely car you will receive, but not guaranteed. We contacted them in advance and were assured we'd be taken care of. But ended up being thoroughly messed around on arrival, waiting 70 mins for what ended up being a Ford Expedition.

We barely squeezed 6 cases in (3 moderately large and 3 small to medium), even with the 7th seat folded down. But we did manage.
