Advice on hire car collection day after flight
We are traveling to Clearwater via MCO. For a variety of reasons we will arrive at MCO at 17:15 and will be staying the night at the Double Tree - 5555 Hazeltine National Drive. Our plan was to collect a Hire Car the following morning before carrying on to Clearwater.
Initially I had thought of using the courtesy bus to travel back to the airport to collect the hire car, but its seems cheaper to go off site. I know a lot of the hire firm offer a courtesy bus between their lot and the airport which we would use when we return the car, but does anyone know where the off site lots are in relation to the Double Tree ? I'm thinking we grab a cab from the Double Tree to the Hire lot. However you clever folk may have some even better suggestions. |

I checked your hotel address and personally I would Uber back to the airport. The hire companies located offsite of the airport are still very close. SixT etc.
Thats what I would do. Well I wouldn't actually as I haven't a clue about Uber so I would get a cab!

Hi Coggie. Our accommodation in Clearwater, is not available until the day after we arrive in Orlando. We therefore decided to use some Hilton points to stay near to the airport and then travel onto Clearwater the next day. I thought it might save a small amount of money, but more importantly I wouldn't have to face all the usual admin and details associated with collecting the car until the next morning, plus I could have a few drinks on the flight without worrying about driving.
