My DD works for 111 on an 8 week cycle, she’s working earlies on the 23,24,25 and 26 plus lates on New Year’s Eve and day. It’s just how it falls

Thankfully, working in a school comes with 2weeks off for Santa coming!

We break up 19th... busy that night as staff party which writes the next day off🥴
After that it's Xmas food shopping and prep before the big day.
Xmas eve is a morning film, walk with the dog, visit my aunty and uncle then home for baths, matching pjs, board games and nibbles.
Xmas day is dinner just the 4 of us and the night time will be the in laws and step children joining us for more food, drinks, presents and games.
Boxing day is a lazy affair with films, left over finner and chocolates.

That in-between week is always a blur I feel we do nothing and waste it but I don't know what we could do!

No plans for new years as yet x

I’m also taking early retirement so 2025 will be my last.
I’m really looking forward to retirement and being able to do things with my grandchildren in the run up to Christmas.

There’s a Christmas Fair on tomorrow in our village 12-4 but unfortunately I’m working ☹️

I always used to work the bit between Christmas and New Year as we were Leisure. People moaned a lot about us closing Boxing Day but then we were never busy the rest of the week. I swear people just like to know they can go to the gym/pool if they feel like it. I didn't mind working though as it was a doddle and saved me using annual leave.
Now I'm a lady of leisure so every day is a day off now.

I’m off 10 days from 22nd December, DH has the same, first full Xmas since DH came out of the army 14 years ago!
It’s going to be busy with all the family together and I can’t wait 😊

I'm working my day job up until the Friday, then will be in our shop for the Saturday and Christmas Eve.

Prep the Turkey Christmas Eve evening, then I'm on cooking duties Christmas Day, Christmas Day with the family, then Boxing Day will either be a chill out day or might go play golf?

Wednesday, back to work as I need the money if I take 3 weeks off late January early Feb and go to Florida (fingers crossed). That is the joy of being self-employed.

Merry Christmas everyone

Luckily my husband is a college tutor and gets just short of two weeks off 🥳🥳
Our older two children are both working all day Christmas eve 😩 so I am not sure what we will do during the day because Mason doesn’t like going anywhere, especially without his big brother 🤦 the evening will be lots of treats and Christmas movies 🥰
On Christmas day we always have dinner at my mums, my sister, her partner and son will be coming too this year which will be great 💕💕 then we head home around 5-6pm for more treats and another movie 🤩
We will be going to the cinema watching Wonker at some point between Christmas and New year and my husband got me tickets to watch Wizard of oz at Liverpool for my birthday 🤩🤩🤩
Poor Mason has loads of appointments at Alder Hey during December; Oral surgery for lip biopsies, appointment with the Gastroenterologist, appointment with the Endocrinologist and his infusion, all on different days throughout December, Liverpool isn’t a million miles away from Wigan but the traffic is always poop 💩 🙈

I'm a nurse and I'm on call Christmas Eve and working Christmas Day, I have boxing day off then at work the rest of the week. I'm sad as I have a little 4 year old but I will make the best of it! Lots of presents, food, prosecco and days out where I can
