Single adult with four special needs children

Hi all

I have booked a Special Disabled Villa in Orlando for Summer 2021, to take my Disabled Wheelchair bound Son to Disney/Universal, along with his three younger sisters each of whom have Autism and ADHD...

Just wondering if anyone can offer me any tips on how I can make the trip good for all four...?

On a recent visit to Disneyland Paris, I needed to accompany my daughters on each of the rides, but my Son won't be able to ride the type of rides my daughters enjoy due to his disabilities.

Would any Florida residence with annual passes perhaps be willing to meet up and be an extra adult in my group..?

I have also asked if any extended family would be able to join us, but not sure yet if any will be able to.

Feel a little worried as we are there for 21 days, and I want it to be magical for all of them, but see a HUGE meltdown occurring if they are not able to do some things they enjoy as well...

Is your son able to be left in his wheelchair for a short period of time whilst you ride? My niece is disabled and when we rode rides she was allowed to wait in the queue with us and then the cm took her to the exit or parent swap area to wait for us to get off the ride once we were at the front on rides that she couldnt do - it meant sh was left for like 5 mins max

Hi, we live 10 minutes from Disney and would love to help. Not sure if we will have Universal passes 2 years from now but will always have Disney ones. My 16 year old daughter has ASD herself and has needed a wheelchair for 18 months in the past due to Functional Neurological Disorder. She is an expert on what rides your son can do in his wheelchair and sensory issues for your daughters. Please feel free to private message me so we can keep in touch. My daughter uses Facebook alot if any of yours want to get to know her.

Will be honest I just dont think it would be possible! How old are they? What would you do when one if having a meltdown? Will the others just stand there quietly and patiently whilst you run after one or physically retrain one? What happens if one gets ill? Or one wants to go swimming the rest dont.
I mean I applaud your obvious strength as a single mum of 4 kids with additional needs but as a mum of one 11 year old with high functioning Autism I can speak from experience when i say a meltdown in a theme park is no joke and I was with my husband and 12 year old.
Im just not sure its entirely safe.
My son copes at home well and we rarely have the huge meltdowns but we had a spectacular 2 hour one in Seaworld last year that culminated in him collapsing in the heat on the floor. There is no way I would have survived that with 3 other special needs kids on my own.

You are no doubt a baddass mom already but seriously consider yourself too. No point in you trying to give them a great holiday then getting broken yourself.
