“The insurance would likely be void even if the FCO isn’t advising against travel to your intended destination, as Government lockdown restrictions would take precedent.
Thanks for that and I can see that being the case if travel restrictions were in place but as far as I know and I’m happy to be corrected there are no such restrictions in any level 3 area?

The keyword is advised. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it but advised not to.

Travel

People are advised against leaving the Tier 3 area other than for things like work or education.

Residents are also advised against staying overnight in any other part of the UK if they live in a Tier 3 area.

Advisories only, my annual policy says nothing about this.

It’s also worth pointing out that many annual insurance won’t cover for Covid claims no matter where you live. I have annual insurance via a paid for bank account and that would have covered the Florida holiday I was supposed to be on right now as I booked it in January. It wouldn’t cover Covid for any replacement holiday booked after March though. I looked at getting single trip insurance that did cover for Covid instead.

Our annual travel policy does and it was recently updated to give even more covid cover. So there are good value ones to he had.

Looks like tests are going to be required, can’t say I blame them really.

Good news for me we travel Sunday and go in tier 3 Monday

Not sure its unfortunate as it will protect the canaries so they can stay open and healthy.
Yes it will impact on some people but think of it as a local tax to be paid.
