Camping meal ideas

We going camping soon, apart from compulsory cooked breakfast! Any ideas of quick and easy meals maybe for lunch/tea? We have 3 cooking rings and a tiny grill to use. TIA

Make stuff like bolognese, curry etc and freeze it then take with you
Just defrost and heat up!

what kind of storage will you have? if only have room temperature storage
pot noodles
anything in a can you can easily reheat - spagbol, curry, stew, soup ect
pasta
scrambled egg - you can always do toast on the grill

I do jerk chicken to take for the first night, pasta and sauce or instant noodles are easy, hot dogs, fajitas. Use boil in the bag rice, you can cook more in one pot and the clean up is easier. For a treat, pre cooked pancakes work well.

As above we normally take things pre frozen and they defrost over a day or say. Also means you don’t have to spend ages cooking. If you are just taking a cool box you can freeze a 2ltr water bottle. They take ages to defrost and keep everything fairly cool.

Take the pre cooked microwave packet rice, add some water in the pan with it and it only takes a few minutes to heat.
Take fresh pasta, as again it only takes a few minutes rather than waiting on dried.

For lunches we normally have salads, sandwiches/wraps. Sorry pretty boring.

We usually always have electric hook up so I have a low wattage toaster. £3 from Argos. One of the best things I got rather than struggling with a grill.

What kind of camping? Carrying everything on your back and moving on every day? Living in a luxury vehicle American-style with all mod cons? Or something in between?
Suggestions are going to depend on your circumstances e.g potatoes are great and easy but heavy so if you're backpacking pasta is better

we fire up the bbq once per day in the early evening, and cook enough for the next 24 hours, so do extra sausages on the bbq, then put them in a tub and warm them up in a frying pan for breakfast along with a couple of fried eggs.

for lunch make a nice salad with some chicken parts you cooked the night before

depending on how long you are going for, freeze the meat you are planning on cooking on days 3-5 and keep in a coolbox with cans of frozen cider as ice packs (why waste valuable coolbox space with ice packs you cant drink?!)

tip - for chicken/etc, chuck the bits in a ziploc bag with your marinade of choice and freeze. by day 3 it'll be nicely madinaded and ready for throwing on the coals.

we do a steak night too, so everyone brings a nice thick steak of their choosing, and we cook them and serve with baby potatoes and salad. if you par-cook the potatoes at home (microwave - big bowl with some olive oil, salt and pepper and cover with clingfilm. blast for ~8 mins depending on the size of the potatoes) you can then wrap them in foil and reheat on the bbq. pre-prepped corn on the cob in foil is also good. knob of butter and some lemon peppa seasoning before you go, then just throw on the bbq round the edges to cook slowly.
