I got the IXUS 970 in the week, great little camera.
I think some fun could be had with the time lapse function.

I agree the IXUS i think is an iconic range of digital cameras.

Quality is superb and I will be taking mine along with my 400d later this year.

Another vote for the Ixus 70, I believe it also has a firework setting

Simply putting any camera on a wall/railing/shelf/whatever and using the timer function will be 100 times better than any firework mode

A firework mode does the following:

1. Sets the ISO setting way up high, causing grainy pictures with noise in the process.
2. Sets the Aperture as low as possible which (possibly) causes things to be out of focus you may want to be in forcus.

A bunch of Dibbers wrote this article, and it explains a lot about fireworks...

The bear reminds himself of this thread and walks away with his fur firmly flattened.

Hi Ted
No sorry, I've only had the camera for a couple of weeks. I'll have to practice on Bonfire night for Disney in December

We have a Kodak Easyshare M753. We got it last year for Florida and it is great. Small and compact - would easily fit in a bum bag. I think we paid about £100.00 but I think it is now about £80.00. Really good pictures.

Well tweedle dee and tweedle dum look good.
