Tui and cancelled free dining plan
Hi everyone
I was suppost to stay at Coronado springs this May. I booked with tui when it was free dining . I only booked a moderate resort to get the free dining . I Normally stay at a value. Tui moved my holiday to may 2021 inc the free dining plan . My question is does anyone know where I stand ? I can no longer afford to stay at Coronado now that Disney have cancelled the dining plans . I am going for 2 weeks so the dining plan would have saved me a lot of money . I have looked at downgrading to a value hotel but apparently tui will not give me any money back if I change for a cheaper holiday . Plus the value resorts are currently priced a lot higher than normal . I know Disney offered USA customers discount off room rates to make up for the cancelled dining plan. Getting through to tui on the phone is a nightmare . Getting a bit stressed that I have paid a lot of money for a holiday that has changed from what i orginally booked and now have to find extra money for food . Any advise would be greatly appreciated . Thanks |

Afraid in the UK I think the discount in replacement for dining was only if you kept your 2020 booking. If moved to 2021 you get nothing off and really it all depends on Tui and what they want to offer.

The 35% discount offered for loss of dining plans was only for stays in 2020 unfortunately. The only deal Disney were letting you carry over were the free gift cards, but that was only if you were booked directly with Disney.
I've booked direct with Disney so can't comment on TUI but whenever I have moved to a cheaper hotel with Disney they've only charged a £50 amendment fee, surely TUI has something similar? Might be worth reading through the T&C's of your booking

How much booking incentive did Tui give you. Think it was up to an extra 20%.

I'm not sure all stars are taking reservations just yet for next year and rumour has it they may not. Pop is around £500 extra for our dates so that may be why it's coming up as expensive.

Tui didn’t say anything to me about a 20% incentive . It was March when they moved it to 2021 . They offered to move it to the same time in 2021 at no extra charge . They did move the free dining plan too but that was before Disney cancelled them all

Dining plan wasn't released back in March for 2021, so I would assume if they have sold this to you (does it show on your booking ?) then they cannot provide what you have paid for so surely you should be able to cancel... Unless Im missing something?

Ring them and say as the Ddp has been cancelled through no fault of yours it is a material change to your holiday. Tell them you want the 20% incentive to be applied or you'll cancel.
So if they give it then for example the original holiday cost £5000 then with the incentive you have an extra £1000 to part cover your Ddp if and when it becomes available again. Ps we had the 20% incentive added for our rebooked 2021 holiday from June this year. Edited at 03:07 PM. |

Yes the dining plan did show on my booking invoice . But now when I look at it on the app it’s been removed . Luckily I printed off the original one and kept it . I’ll try ringing tui again and say the holiday Is no longer what I signed up for . Just end up being on hold for hours . Thanks for the replies everyone

Op. I would be careful, as remember the ddp was a free incentive for people to book. Also as others have said it was Disney USA that offered the money off, and not any intermediary companies, this is why I always book direct with Disney it's cheaper and a lot less hassle. Good luck.
