Congratulations 🎉 🥳
If you don’t want to tell your employer until the 3 month scan can you not just say that you are suffering with a bad back & cannot move mattress etc

All I can advise is not to give incorrect or misleading info as it wont allow an accurate health and safety assessment to be done. In my workplace a bad back would trigger a musculoskeletal referral to OH and a who shed load of work through that. Being upfront will allow the right protections to be afforded.

Its really your employers issue how they fix it once the change is identified and them knowing sooner rather than later that they need to get someone else in to assist will also assist you.

A bad back doesnt give you the same legal rights as being pregnant does (well not at least in the first instance unless its also considered as a condition protected by the equalities act.

Congratulations! You need to let your boss know as it is their duty to do a risk assessment to avoid harm to yourself and your baby.
Lifting something like a mattress is unlikely to do any harm to the baby as they are well cushioned in there! But you are
Much more likely to have an injury due to all of your muscles relaxing.
It is also your legal right to attend all
Medical appointments in pregnancy incase they get funny about that if they are short staffed.
