Alternative Things to do

Hi all!

We are heading to the promised land again in 11 days, can't wait!

We've been 3 or 4 times and know the standard park stuff and things to do etc... but my question is - Do you have anything that you like to do in orlando that is off the beaten track? Alternative entertainment if you will?

We aren't planning what we are doing on a day to day basis this year and are trying to find different things that we haven't done before, like the dessert party (I know some planning required lol) and I thought I would ask you lovely bunch for your experiences!

Cheers

We are trying out Spirit of the Swamp tour, Big Cat Rescue, and a day trip to Clearwater on our next trip as some new things to do!

On site, I love the DP, hope you do too Have you thought about one of the Disney tours? We did the Wild Africa Trek and Behind the Seeds last year which were both really good, and booked on Keys to the Kingdom for this year. Also trying Afternoon Tea at the GF Tea Room this year.

We love watching the Wishes fireworks from the Poly beach too!

Haven't thought about the tours... we have our 2 kids with us and I know some of the tours are adults only so will have to take a look through them to see which ones we can do with them.

Sounds like you have plenty planned!

Not sure how old your kids are, but how about a Segway Tour around Celebration. Try Z E Tours on the 192. We did one in June and it was brilliant fun.

I can highly recommend spirit of the swamp , A few weeks ago we did the 2 hour tour , it was brilliant !
Friends did wild willies and said it was brilliant too .
We also went to Clearwater beach and went out on the ' little toot ' tug boat . We saw lots of beautiful dolphins and really enjoyed it . Friends did the sea screamer and said that was excellent too .
We also drove to johns pass after Clearwater , nice for a wander , we also saw dolphins playing around the boats here , really lovely .
If you fancy a meal away from the tourist trap Wildside BBQ grill in downtown orlando is nice , food was fab and our server was lovely .
I haven't tried this yet as we ran out of time , winter gardens has a boat tour 1 hr for around $12 , it's on the to do list for next time .

That's a real shame, but of course it is an excuse to go back and do when they are old enough

Loads of different things to do.
State parks for kayaks and tubing we did a tour on a kayak last trip and it was amazing, we saw so many different animals and birds, also saw manatee and gators.
Giraffe ranch for a tour hand feeding giraffe and hippos, lemurs was a fab day.
A day at the beach, boat trips. We loved the air boat when we did that.
Also there are rodeo's, sports events, Forever Florida which are a few of the things we want to try on our next trip.
I always try to find something new that we haven't done before.
